Housing
In this project, I tried to create a house with various types of living to provide a flat for every age group and demographic.
I tried to create flats with the qualities of a single-family house, which to me are mostly defined by a private outside space that encloses the private inside. Therefore every flat tries to have a private outside space on each side. Additionally, both outside spaces should be visible from (almost) every room, giving a sense of “enclosure” by your private outside space.
1. The roof features a semi-private street with single-family-home-like flats and urban farming on top.
2. The clusters are tiny-home like units that are grouped together. The in-between-space forms a shared living room and kitchen.
3. A see-trough flat.
4. Very thin maisonettes
The building was an experiment to bring together different forms of living into one building that may act like a village in itself. The flats can be organized differently in the section, stacked, added, and left out.
The “city-base” is thought to house shops and other public functions.
